Armada Township MI is accepting applications for the position of Full Time Paramedic-Firefighter.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- U.S. Citizen
- Minimum 18 years of age
- High school graduate or GED equivalent
- Valid driver’s license (Michigan or out-of-state) at time of application with a good driving record and no felony convictions
- Firefighter I and II certified by application date. All applicants must be Firefighter II certified (Michigan Firefighter Training Council certification) by attending an Academy sponsored by a regional training center as allowed by the provisions and/or requirements mandated by the State of Michigan.
- Licensed Paramedic. Licensed according to the provisions and/or requirements mandated by the State of Michigan.
- Must have a current passing test score (at least 70%) on record with Empco and must have Armada Township Fire Department selected. Register with Empco at https://www.empco.net/. Test fees are the responsibility of the applicant.
- Prior to being hired, candidate must complete and pass a Candidate Physical Agility Test (CPAT), physical, drug, psychological, respirator fit test, and extensive background check.
Firefighter Paramedic Summary of Benefits:
- Rural Full Time ALS Transporting Fire Department averaging 1000 calls annually
- Starting pay is $52,803 (2025 first step rate) with step increases bi-annually to year 4; Candidates with prior experience with an IAFF Department are eligible to start at a higher rate
