Manistee County Sheriff’s Office, MI – Corrections Officer

The Manistee County Sheriff’s Office shall accept applications for the position(s) of Corrections Officer effective with the publication of this notice.   This is a full-time position.

Applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • 18 years of age
  • Valid Michigan Driver’s License
  • High School graduate, or equivalent
  • Two-year Associate Degree with major in Corrections preferred, but not required.  
  • Complete a Local Corrections Officer Physical Ability Test (LCOPAT) and EMPCO Test

The qualifications listed above are intended to represent the minimum skills and experience levels associated with performing the duties and responsibilities of this position.  The qualifications should not be viewed as expressing absolute employment standards, but as general guidelines that will be considered along with other selection related criteria.  Successful applicants shall be notified of dates and times to interview for this position. 

Prior to be hired for this position, applicants must pass both the EMPCO and LCOPAT examinations.  To complete the EMPCO requirements, applicants must go to www.empco.net and follow the instructions for applying.  The LCOPAT information can be found at www.misctc.org.
