The Troy Police Department is committed to improving the quality of life for the citizens of Troy. The Troy Police Department is a full service agency of 135 sworn officers and 66 civilian personnel, serving a population of approximately 87,000 residents covering 34.3 square miles.
The Department is made up of the 4 divisions: ADMINISTRATION, PATROL, INVESTIGATION & SUPPORT SERVICES
Administrative Division
The Administrative Division is made up of the Chief, Deputy Chief, three Captains, Staff Inspections Commander, and the Emergency Response and Preparedness Commander. Together, they are responsible for budget preparation, establishment of performance objectives, long range planning, policy development, internal and employment investigations, emergency planning, and the coordination of department operations.
Patrol Division
The Patrol Division works 10 hour days, 4 days a week. The Division provides police service through traditional uniformed patrol and a variety of specialized functions such as:
Investigations Division
The Investigations Division is charged with the responsibility of investigating all criminal activity brought to the Departments attention. This Division is divided into 2 components; the Criminal Investigation Section and the Special Investigation Section.
